Bulgarian cuisine was one like no other. Its full a flavours that I just can't forget, and made from the simplest ingredients. Many of the salads didn't contain lettuce, and were compromised of tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, onions, dried dates and my favourite part of it all - white cheese. The portion sizes of their appetizers are the same size as a main meal in Toronto, so you can just imagine how big the main course was! Not to mention the fact that it was much much cheaper than eating out back home.

So we decided to compile a list of our top 5 tips for backpackers. To be honest, there is more than 5, but we really tried! Although you may not agree with some, this is our list that we thought long and hard about, so if you don't agree please let us know and why. So number one and far most important is...
This is not even a 3 star hotel, this is Ryan Air, Europe's cheapest and most annoying airline company. As most people know Ryan Air is claimed as Europe's cheapest airline. It's almost guaranteed that if you are travelling Europe you will encounter Ryan Air during your flight searches. For most people there is no loving or hating Ryan Air, it's really a love-hate relationship - you love them for their ridiculously cheap prices, but you hate them because they are an extremely low-cost budget airline that doesn't provide you with much comfort at all. We have found some really cheap flights (For example on our 'Finding Cheap Flights (like 0.24€)' Blog).
Hostels can be a little scary if your staying in one for the first time. But they're actually fun, enjoyable and full of surprises. Sharing a room can be daunting, especially if you don’t speak the same language. But that all makes for a unique and pleasant adventure. The people you meet in hostels can end up being your travel buddies for the city or even then rest of your trip. You can make unforgettable life friends or even meet that special someone. So lets try not be one of those rude and annoying roommates and try to make a good first impression. Here is our list of Hostel Etiquette. So what does the word 'travel' really mean to you? We [travellers] often don't get asked this question a lot, but at some point in your life someone will inquire about the true reasoning behind your adventures. So we watched an amazing video on Youtube called 'idream itravel - The Meaning of Travel" and found it quite inspiring. Some quotes spoken in the video are: “Most wonderful things in life “ I live my travel dreams, I don't have limits and I certainly don't live by boundaries. I was all set for the experience of a lifetime. I didn't question why, but I began my quest to visit Antarctica in a broccoli field in Tasmania (long story...). Then suddenly one morning in November 2010, I did what I had longed for, I stepped foot on Antarctica. It was magical. All the cliches are true. It snows here, you can see penguins and you're advised to wear warm clothes. This was an adventure holiday with a difference! But there was an added bonus on the trip, for me and the few British travellers on board - we found out at 5pm one night that the next day we would be visiting the remarkable British Base at Port Lockroy! I was excited. |
