-- People --
As with any country, there are nice people and not-so-nice people. But that's not what we're focusing on. The way the locals interact with each other is not like anything that we have seen before. Whether you are family, friends or strangers on the street, everyone is super-friendly with one another. Men will hold hands just because they are friends. Locals have a good amount of respect and care for each other, it's the way they were raised.
You will find that people, mostly the older generation, are more content with life and are more accepting of tourists and tourism, and are generally helpful and will assist you in any way they can. Often if you are looking for something specific, everyone will tell you "Not here, next shop 3 doors down" (even if 3 doors down is a pillow shop and you are looking for batteries), or someone will actually walk with you to help you find what you need. Locals know their way around the complicated city streets like the back of their hand - if you are lost always ask a local. They will help you find your accommodations, and if they don't know they will call friends/family or stop other people and ask them for you.
